It’s with much sadness that we share with you that Paul died on Christmas day, aged 75.
Paul started PP Atkins & Co in 1972 in his and Mary’s spare bedroom, with a $3,000 overdraft, 3 clients and 3 children under 3. Needless to say, they faced some hurdles, but with Dad’s never-ending vision, enthusiasm, desire to help others and love of his work, there was no stopping him. These attributes became the cornerstones of the family business he built and that we proudly continue in his name today.
Dad was at his happiest when he could share his time and expertise to support someone in need. He loved learning about his clients’ businesses, the industries they worked in and ultimately building everlasting connections that helped them flourish.
Dad had limitless energy and eagerness to help people reach their potential, whether it be his clients or his own staff.
Most of all, Dad loved to be with his family. His enthusiasm for life was infectious and his purpose for running a family business was to ensure his children and grandchildren were given the opportunities to make great things happen, this he has succeeded in.
Until the very end, as always, it was a struggle to slow him down! We will miss him immensely.
A requiem mass will be held on Friday 3 January at 10.30am at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sutherland.
Luke, Mary and I would like to thank you for the support and well wishes you have shown over the past 5 years since his retirement.
David, Luke and Mary Atkins
